The Single Pack MK1 is a versatile multi-purpose plug/packer for production/injection testing, bridge plugging, straddling, fracturing, squeeze cementing and gravel packing

MK1Plug

The Single Pack MK1 can be run and set with a running tool on slickline, e-line, coiled tubing or drill pipe. No rotation is required and it is retrievable with a standard pulling tool on slickline, e-line,coiled tubing or drill pipe.

Bidirectional one piece slips are protectively located below the packing element. Pressure ratings are 10K PSI up to 5 1/2", 7.5K PSI on 7" and 6K PSI from 9 5/8" to 10 3/4".

The system is temperature rated to 150ºC but higher temperature rating can be delivered on request. It can be fitted with accessories such as an equalizing valve, a flapper valve, a burts disc and a junk catcher amongst others.

When setting, the mandrel is held stationary and the outside components are pushed downwards - first to anchor the slips and second to expand the packing. Both of these are then held in place by a releasable lock ring system. At a predetermined force, a shear ring parts and releases the running tool from the Single Pack Packer.

Retrieval of the Single Pack Packer is simply achieved - by latching into the fishing neck with a GS style pulling tool. Then, an upward pull will release the tool.

Key features & benefits

  • Protected release mechanism cannot be packed off or jammed by debris
  • Not affected by pressure from above or below, which prevents accidental release
  • Easily converted to attach to standard flow control devices
  • While the single pack packer is set, the slips segments are protected below the packing element from settled out debris. This reduces the chance of sticking slips
