Application survey

The first step in considering use of the Seawell Modular Rig onboard your facility is to undertake an application study covering both installation and operation

The process

  • establishing a small (onshore) team to evaluate the drawings of the facility
based on these, establish a tentative layout of the Modular Rig onboard your facility
  • defining the necessary interfaces (e.g. cooling water, F&G, ESD, etc) between the existing facility and the Modular Rig is part of this stage
  • making an early evaluation of the existing systems/equipment  - e.g. mud pits, bulk tanks/system, cement unit, platform power vs own generator sets, etc
  • once the first onshore evaluations are completed, the study team goes offshore to verify the onshore work and check out finer detail and condition of existing equipment
  • after the survey is completed, any necessary modifications to the facility will be defined, and pre-engineering of the proposed solution will be presented in an application study report
  • if beneficial, a 3D animation of installation of the Modular Rig onboard your facility can be included in this study
  • for greenfield projects the process will also include definition of a proposal for layout and a Basis of Design
  • depending of the stage of development of the platform/jacket and the Client requested Scope of Work, this work can be completed in 2-4 weeks

Resources required

    • 3-4 persons for a period of 4-8 weeks, depending on the client requirements and complexity of installation
