From the award of the platform drilling contract for Unocal's Heather Field in the North Sea in 1977, Seawell has been a key player in the supply of drilling and maintenance personnel to fixed platforms.

Since that time, we have continued to build on our early experience; increasing capabilities, developing unique supporting technologies and extending our global footprint. 

Currently, Seawell drilling crews are operating on over 40 fixed installations in the UK, Norway and Brazil, taking responsibility for operations, maintenance and spare part management for all the equipment owned by its clients. 

The success of this 'total drilling management' service has fuelled continued expansion. Seawell has long term contracts with major operators such as: Chevron, BP, Shell, TAQA, Apache, Fairfield Energy, ConocoPhillips, Talisman and Marathon. And we have worked continuously with Statoil since 1982.
