Proper commissioning procedure is vital to ensure that equipment and other offshore installations are completed in compliance with rules and regulations as well as operating effectively. Seawell protocol ensures that our installations are properly checked in the mechanical completions phase prior to the commissioning stage to ensure a minimum of punch list items.
As well as offshore commissioning teams, Seawell engineering has onshore commissioning engineers, whose sole purpose is to ensure a smooth handover to operations. Our engineers take care of all planning, preparation and execution until the Ready for Operations Certificate is signed by the client.
When performing modifications with a large scope under a short execution schedule, commissioning is normally done in parallel with installation work. This may be achieved by dividing the scope into small functional packages (FCPs), integrating the installation and commissioning plans so that installation work is organized to complete separate functional systems - thus allowing commissioning to start at an early stage and proceed alongside installation, system by system.
