Modifications and upgrades

Engineering and Installation skills in drilling areas are at the core of Seawells' business, contributing to the development, maintenance, modification, construction and operation of oil and gas production facilities worldwide.


Upgrades

  • Seawell has the discipline-specific experience to take care of all upgrades in drilling areas, both offshore and onshore - in accordance with customers standards and systems for piping, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation assets
  • Engineering staff have the required skills to work directly with customers' maintenance and service programs. And all Seawell engineering teams are certified to go offshore at short notice
  • All upgrades will be validated against existing government rules and regulations

Our goals for upgrades are; 'smart', cost-effective solutions and full production for customers during the installation period.

Modifications

  • Seawell's range of services for modifications offshore and onshore runs from concept and feasibility studies, through front-end engineering design to basic and detail engineering, construction, full scale testing, installation, commissioning and provision of as-built documentation for all disciplines
  • DFE has undertaken (and gained valuable experience from)  an extensive range of modifications - from the simple installation of lifting lugs to very large and complex modules and rotating equipment design and installation
  • All modifications are undertaken according to current customers' and government standards, rules and regulations, and encompass  all aspects of maintenance engineering strategy and practice
  • Seawell has long experience of modifications in drilling modules and the skills/expertise for drilling equipment to make a positive environmental impact

Our HSE goal in a modification project is zero accidents. And, as always, customer service is a major priority.

Modification on marine systems

Seawell also has extensive modification and upgrade capabilities and experience with MODU units, DP and marine systems.

Modifications while units are in operation

Operational downtime often costs more than the modification itself. The ability to undertake modifications while operation continues and to maximise uptime is one of the most important aspects of Seawell's  MODU work.

By ensuring close cooperation with the vessel's operating personnel and employing our safety planning tools, we are able to achieve significant cost savings and risk reductions for our clients.
