Gauge hanger

The gauge hanger is a robust and simple tool used for placing memory gauges and other measurement devices downhole. With no need to use nipple profiles, it can be placed anywhere in the well.

The CTR 1.850 Gauge Hanger is for use in 4" to 7" casings. It is set by using compression; the internal parts are pulled upwards, and the external parts are pushed downwards. This will anchor the 2 sets of slips to the casing wall.

A ratchet lock mechanism will keep the gauge hanger compressed. At a predetermined force, a shear stud will part and free the running tool from the gauge hanger.

When retrieving, an SB type pulling tool is used to latch onto the fishing neck. By jarring upwards a core inside a collet will move up, making it possible for the collet to collapse and travel downwards. This will stretch out the whole assembly, and make the 2 sets of slips collapse.

The gauge hanger can then be fully retrieved.
