We have incorporated Smart Monitors in most of our wireline units. This gives our operators the best possible view and control of wireline operations, improving both safety and efficiency.
Smart Monitor is a state-of-the-art data acquisition system which monitors, visualizes and records actual wire depth, tension and speed. Each parameter is visualized in both in analogue and digital form on a clear, bright, easy-to-read screen.
Dual alarm systems
The Smart Monitor includes a dual-alarm; one audible/ visual and one shutdown alarm. These alarms can be set separately by the supervisor for each of the monitored values. This greatly reduces the risk of over-pulling the weak point and damaging the well itself and helps ensure problem-free, efficient well intervention.
Real-time data transfer
The Smart Monitor uses Ethernet for real time data transfer. This can be fed into most 3rd party data acquisition systems to provide logging companies with the actual depth, tension and speed. Or the run data can be viewed online from a distant location, including onshore.
If no Ethernet connection is possible, the run data can be downloaded using a USB memory stick. It can readily be incorporated and presented together with temperature and pressure data from a memory gauge. More advanced possibilities include the incorporation of well simulations, automatic winch control (cruise control) and soft shutdown.
Reliable, easy to use software
The software for the Smart Monitor is designed for reliability and ease of use. It also monitors dual inputs for depth and tension in order to enhance accuracy and safety. In the field, the Smart Monitor has proven itself to be a reliable and precise system.
